Our residents have individual tailored packages of care and support within a community that not only accepts but also values each persons individual contribution and aims to share life’s achievements along with all of its ups and downs. 

We have a growing employed staff team engaged in a range of roles including Care & Support, running workshops and supporting the administration and related work of the Charity.

Our staff are committed to achieving the best that they can for our residents in whatever role they undertake. No one would suggest it’s easy. Some of our workshops like the gardens, bakery and café can be hard physical work, the offices are often busy and the work in the care and support team can be challenging and emotionally draining at times. However, we work together as a community to support each other, we provide induction and training, annual appraisal and ongoing supervision alongside individual support for all of our staff.  We share in the successes and achievements of each individual – together.

The information you provide in your application form is what we will use to decide whether to shortlist you for an interview. This helps us to review each applicant in a fair and consistent way. It is important that you complete the application accurately and honestly and fill in all the sections. Take care to look at the Job Description and Person Specification for the role that you are applying for – you can find that at the bottom of the specific post recruitment page. If you don’t tell us how you meet the criteria or have relevant experience we will not be able short list you.

We will ask for the names of two referees, which must include your current or most recent employer. If you have not had two employers, you may provide a second reference from a teacher, university or college tutor if you have been in full-time education. If you have not been in full time education and do not have two previous employers, you can provide the contact details of a personal reference from people who have known you for at least five years. However, we do not accept references from family or relatives.

Depending on the role you are applying for, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, formally CRB) certificate may be required. This will be obtained from the DBS before your appointment is confirmed. You will be required to disclose any criminal record(s) you have as part of the application process. Please note that we welcome applications from applicants with a variety of backgrounds. Criminal records will be reviewed on an individual basis and taken into account for recruitment purposes where the conviction is considered relevant. A criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position with us.
