Our Mission & Vision

Our Vision

We envision a world where each person is appreciated and accepted for their unique abilities.

A place where people with special needs are encouraged and supported to reach their potential through the experience of living, learning and working in the community with others.

At Camphill Milton Keynes therefore we strive to create a community that is both supportive and empowering to all.

Creating communities where people Live, Work and Celebrate together.

Our goal is to provide a strong supportive environment where residents can gain self-confidence and personal independence within a safe and enabling environment.

We wish to support people in leading as independent a life as is possible and that they choose, within the context of wider community.

We believe that community is broad and defined by each individual. At the heart of our Camphill community are the people who receive support. Their community and ours may also include staff and volunteers, family, friends and wider connections in our locality and beyond.

We believe that when everyone; residents, volunteers and staff, live and work closely together with support and understanding, we create a strong community where our beneficiaries can choose and find meaning and joy in their lives and in their work. Where their particular contributions are valued, and where their thoughts and ideas are listened to in an atmosphere of mutual respect and creativity.

We recognise the uniqueness of each individual within our community, so that each person is able to reach their full potential. We wish to create an environment in which we can express our individual spiritual striving.

We aim to provide and access lifelong learning opportunities for everybody, from both within and outside our community.

Our physical environment and location in Milton Keynes affords us a unique opportunity to work in partnership with others, both as individuals and as organisations – through our horticulture, café, theatre, bakery, art, craft, IT and other creative workshops.

We believe that, through the dignity of work and meaningful activity, residents and other beneficiaries can enjoy both inspiration and fulfilment and we therefore seek to ensure that our current workshops allow for this. As well as creating new workshops that would provide for such meaningful work and creativity.

We believe in producing high-quality goods and services that represent both our professionalism and our diversity. We are proud of the effect our work, routine and culture has upon our people and share in their individual pride and success.

We embrace change and innovation and aim to be at the forefront of progress within social care. We respect and protect our environment and our city. We do things that innovate and excite – we don’t aim to be “conventional” but creative and special.

We recognise that for many adults with disabilities, the path to independence is a challenging one however disability does not define the path nor restrict the destination

We celebrate the uniqueness of our setting in the context of the wider social care environment and extol the virtues of what we do. We provide meaningful occupation and a chance to contribute for every individual.

We recognise the changing needs of the elderly residents and co-workers and wish to make provision for these needs in the form of suitable accommodation and appropriately skilled and professional support, as well as therapeutic, artistic, craft and other activities.

In the spirit of partnership we wish to work with families and other parties to create and implement a variety of stimulating and interesting life, work, cultural and social activities, both within our community and outside of it.

We aim to be a force of good.

We share our lives, our successes and our challenges together!
