Become a Resident

CMKC aims to offer its residents a good quality of life by providing support in a friendly, relaxed and stimulating environment. The support we offer meets each resident’s assessed daily living needs and encourages them towards self reliance.

The residents in CMKC have their own rooms and have signed a tenancy agreement.

We welcome enquiries from adults with learning disabilities, mental health problems and other special needs who feel they might like to join our community. We also welcome enquiries from interested parents, guardians, other close relatives or friends, and social workers.

Interested in becoming a part of our community? We are now taking applications for new residents.

Referral and Admission Process

ENQUIRY
We are happy to receive enquiries and referrals from family members, social workers or as self-referrals via our website, phone, letter or email.
We take referrals for individuals with learning disabilities, autism and/or less complex mental health issues.
We are very happy to answer any questions you may have informally.

Please give us a call on 01908 235 000!

APPLICATION
Following your enquiry, we will send you our Application Form and our Information Pack about Life at Camphill Milton Keynes, which includes information about our accommodation, our care and support services and our day services.

We will ask you to complete an Application Form which will give us an idea about your health, care and support needs.

ASSESSMENT
You are very welcome to come for an informal visit to be shown our houses and workshops and to meet some of our residents and staff.

If following your informal visit you are interested in pursuing Camphill as a potential place to live; we can arrange a trial stay. It usually involves staying in one of our houses for a night or more and participating in our daily lives and any workshops you may be interested in.

The purpose of the trial stay is for you to learn more about living at Camphill (and deciding whether you like what you see) and for us to get to know you better by starting our assessment process.

LIAISING WITH FUNDING AUTHORITY
If after your trial stay both sides feel that you and Camphill are right for each other, we will ask you to involve your social worker or funding authority by informing them of your interest in living at Camphill. (This is only in case your funding authority is not yet aware. Your social worker may already be involved at this stage).

Your funding authority will need to do their own assessments to determine your eligible needs and to approve the funding of any care and support package.

We will then continue our assessment process and liaise with you and your social worker in order to agree on a care package and work towards your admission into our community.

Our service would be suited to:
•    People who enjoy social contact and can engage with the idea of community living.
•    People who need help and support developing new skills to manage an “independent life”
•    Young people leaving school/college who are looking to move into adult services.
•    People whose parents are no longer able to provide care due to ageing or own health needs.
•    People who require the support of a wider community and who struggle to live alone in society.
•    People who have an assessed need under the Care Act 2014.

Cost

We charge an hourly rate for our support hours (details on application). The number of care and support hours are determined in assessments and communication with the funding authority.

The charge for day services is calculated per day and may vary if there are additional support needs for personal care and support during lunch time.

The base rent of £252.75 pw (Correct at November 2020 for standard accommodation) is inclusive of food, heating, electricity, landline, communal TV, Internet etc, and this is funded through a combination of housing benefits and other benefits.

If you would like to apply for a residency or day services, please either contact us via the below contact methods or download and complete the New Resident Application Form and email it back to us.
